Con Space

TGIF/F utilizes 15,000 square feet of meeting space, giving us the flexibility we need to hold a variety of simultaneous programming.

At the Golden Sails hotel, we have more space than ever to create the TGIF/F experience. In addition to all of the con programming, we have different hangout spaces for you to make friends and find the conversations (or silence!) you’re seeking. No matter what your speed, there’s an option for you. Click on a tab below to learn more:

  • Crystal Ballroom
  • Marina Ballroom
  • The Con Suite
  • The Sails
  • The Quiet Room
  • The Party Rooms
  • Crystal Ballroom

Our main con space is in its own contained building on the hotel property. This large space features a stage and plenty of seating, and will be used for events and most panels. When needed, we’ll split it in half to allow panels to happen while set-up takes place.

  • Marina Ballroom

For the first time ever, we now have a dedicated room for meals! All our catered breakfasts and lunches will be held in the Marina Ballroom. It is a short distance from our programming spaces and provides room for the entire con family to sit together.

  • The Con Suite

The social epicenter of our con, the Con Suite is a sectioned off part of the Crystal Ballroom. It remains open during regular con hours. Drop by to scope out the great items up for grabs in our auction, decorate your badge, make a femslash ornament for our OTreeP, play board games, color some awesome coloring book pages, or just hang out and talk with your fellow attendees. This is also where our Artist Alley lives!

Not feeling the scheduled programming? Take over a table and have a DIY panel of your own! We’ll have a schedule board up so you can announce it in advance, if you like.

  • The Sails

This is a new addition available at our location! Tucked in between the hotel restaurant and our private dedicated eating space, The Sails room will be available for socializing throughout the weekend. We’ll host Buddies events here as well as meetups during mealtimes. Coming into the con early? This is where you can hang out with other attendees (away from the small hotel lobby) before programming starts. On Monday, this is where we’ll congregate for the ever popular “LobbyCon” and hang out before people have to depart from the hotel.

  • The Quiet Room

Need a little personal, introvert time but don’t want to spend it alone in your hotel room? The Quiet Room is just the place for you. Just a short distance from the main programming spaces, this is a room for reading, writing, using your laptop, coloring, doing a puzzle, or scrolling through your phone without the pressure of holding conversation.

We’ll provide some materials to help you unwind, as well as plenty of outlets so you can recharge both literally and metaphorically!

  • The Party Rooms

Once con programming ends for the day, we take the party upstairs!

We reserve one end of a sleeping room floor for after-hours bonding, snacks, and beverages. We reserve six adjacent rooms strictly for socializing purposes so attendees can spread out comfortably. If you’re just not ready to say goodnight yet, stop by and keep the conversation going all night long. No need to wander the hotel — this way, you’ll know where to find people to hang with.

Attendees can bring food/drinks to share, or place an order request with our Party Room team. One of the rooms will be stocked with games (Cards Against Humanity, etc.) for late night shenanigans, while another will be designated specifically for smaller conversations (the “chill” room). Another room will specifically be a sober space so all of our attendees can socialize in a way that feels safe and comfortable to them. Alcohol will be permitted in the other five Party Rooms for attendees age 21 and older.
