COMMUNITY

We encourage you to join the conversation and start getting to know the terrific people you'll be hanging with in February.

  • BUDDIES

New to the con? Don’t know anyone? Don’t worry!

We have a buddy system to match people attending the con for the first or second time with TGIF/F veterans. This way, you’ll have a friendly face to sit by in panels, join for a meal, or ask questions throughout the weekend, as needed. We do our best to match buddies who have things in common that are important to you.

Having a buddy is optional but can be a great way to make new friends. We have a Buddies Meetup on Thursday night, where you’ll get to know your buddy and meet other con attendees. We’ll also host a Buddy Lunch on Friday so you can split a meal with your new friends and get ready for a great first day.

  • DISCORD

Between registration opening and two weeks after the con, we run a temporary Discord server. Here, registered con attendees can access chat rooms to get to know each other better and help plan for the con. We feature channels for:

-General chat / getting to know you

    -Finding hotel roommates

    -Coordinating travel for the con

    -Nominating panel topics/ideas

-Making suggestions for vids or other things about the con

-Discussing specific interests like video games, pets, sports, books, etc.

    And more!

  • TWITTER

Our primary account is @tgifemslash, where we post news and updates leading up to the con, and retweet fannish content.

Our secondary account is @galsbeingpals_, where we livetweet fun quotes and things happening at the con itself.

We use the twitter tag #tgifemslash, as many other people use #tgiff for other things.
